My last post addressed the whole "Dress for Success" topic. I focused on some key points on women's fashion. So let's get to the men.....I know..you thought you were off the hook, men. Well, you should have known better.

What in the heck is up with the grown huge men wearing the European cut jeans that sag in the buttock area. Come on guys. They just don't work. If your rear end is the size of ......wait a minute...If you have a rear end, then those jeans are not meant for you. I don't care what size they make them in. It's the cut that doesn't work. When did we start compromising cut and style for name brands. Come on people...We are beginning to look ridiculous with some of this stuff.

I have one request...Can we please choose the right clothes for our body type? I didn't say...name brand..because we all know that just because it's the coolest, most sought after label doesn't make it right for our body type.

Question: Would you rather wear aa common pair of jeans that fit you perfectly or an expensive pair of designer jeans that make you look like a stuffed bell pepper in them. I know.. for those who are accomplishing the best of both.. well hallelujah...can you help the others who are missing the mark........lol

Dressing for Success

It has been a while since our last conversation, so let me first thank you for being understanding. I do want to expound on a point mentioned in a previous post-Dressing for Success. This is a rather common topic; many people blog about this. However, I want to address some issues that I feel plague our common workplace.

Let's begin with the ladies..........

Fish net stockings, high heels(3 inches or more), and an accompanying mini-skirt does not belong in ...oh....let's...see....a professional medical setting or corporate setting. That's very distracting by the way.

Alternative:
Let's tone that down to a nice pair of textured tights with a low pump or even a nice loafer, a corduroy skirt (that meets the knee at least), married with a nice blouse or sweater or even a blazer. Just do not bring the fish net out unless your occupation requires you to do so.

The popular leggings are just not for everyone. I repeat-they are NOT for everyone. Trust me guys. I can actually pull them off, but I am quite skeptical myself. Please Please Please ladies let's stick with the darker or more neutral colors unless you are 12 years old. The bright yellows, fire red, neon green ones that we see were really a cruel plot of exploitation from the manufactures lol...lol...lol... They only did that to see who would actually wear them. I mean come on who wants to see a grown woman-a fully grown woman who has several children-walking down the street or in a store with neon green leggings that expose her entire bottom area. Just let them go! Let them go!

Alternative: Let's tone that down with a nice neutral legging, perhaps a deep cranberry, or chocolate, a nice deep green or beige. Couple it with a trendy sweater that covers all private areas. Add a nice flat or a cute boot, and you are ready to go.

I will have more later so stay tuned........signing off.

Straight Talk- Session 2

Okay everyone, we are back at it. Not on the grind but on our focused concentration. This is the season for great business and great strides of success. The "Winner" is truly in all of us. Where do we begin? Since we are entering another work week, let's engage.

Rule #1: Clear the mind to be filled with words of enlightenment, encouragement, and positive results.

Rule #2: Dress for success!!! Make sure you have the correct gear to withstand any daggers. (A great pair of shoes with a matching bag would help. By the way, you just feel better when you look and feel refined. I will expound on this later......)

Rule#3: Step out with all confidence that everything will go your way. Remember the world is counting on YOU to do your thing. So don't let yourself and us down.

Signing off.....getting very...very....sleepy

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

Hello again,

I wanted to empty myself of the persistent thoughts concerning, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. There is so much in those few words. It is actually the total sum of possibility and reality. A certain level of excitement surfaces when I hear these words. This is my realilty.

Life.......an endless number of possibilities...How many of those will become your realilty?

Liberty.....the freedom to be.....Will you embrace it?

The Pursuit of Happiness......the ongoing hunt for a life even beyond your dreams...... Can you handle it?

Today, I want to hear from you. What is that one thing that you've always wanted to do? What is that thing that keeps your mind occupied? What keeps you dreaming and dreaming? Let me know.....Signing off.
